FirstEnergy Employee to Help Build a Better Maryland

Lucas Cade, senior Economic Development advisor, has been chosen to participate in Leadership Maryland, a professional development program dedicated to building a better Maryland by harnessing the strength of its local business and community leaders. Lucas is one of 52 members of the Class of 2020 – Leadership Maryland’s 28th class.

“It’s a great honor to be part of this prestigious program that is so highly regarded throughout the state,” said Lucas, who is based at the Williamsport (Md.) Service Center. “Our class is comprised of a diverse group of people, and I look forward to networking and sharing ideas to help make Maryland an even better place to live and work.”

Program participants will complete an eight-month, hands-on learning experience focused on the state’s most vital social, economic and environmental issues. Members of the Class of 2020 come from a variety of backgrounds, including: economic development, education, health and human services, criminal justice, the environment and multi-culturalism and diversity.

“This year’s class is a powerful cross-section of leaders from our state,” said Renee Winsky, president and CEO, Leadership Maryland. “I’m excited to see them come together as a group and do great things in their workplaces, communities and beyond in the years to come.”
